FREE MONTHLY PROGRAMS
On the 3rd Saturday of each month (except January and December), Solanco Historical Society offers a free historical program at 1:30 P.M. at the brick archives warehouse across from the Robert Fulton Birthplace. Located at 1932 Robert Fulton Highway, which is 6-1/2 miles south of Quarryville near Swift Road in Fulton Township, the programs are open to the public and the facility is handicapped-accessible. For more details on programs, speakers and our full list of events, click on the "Upcoming Events" section at the top of this page.
Next Program: On Saturday, September 17th at 1:30 P.M., Dr. Robert Frick will present a program on Dr. David Ramsey of East Drumore Township. Dr. Ramsay was born in 1749 in East Drumore Township, was educated at the College of New Jersey (Princeton) and the College of Philadelphia (University of Pennsylvania), and became not only a doctor and surgeon but a historian of the American Revolution. Dr. Frick will share Dr. Ramsey's amazing, yet rather unknown, story.
Our Next Fundraising Event: 2017 Calendars are currently being printed and will soon be available at our headquarters and at local stores. They feature the work of 12 talented artists from the Southern End with historic scenes of local homes and businesses. Please help support our organization by buying one for yourself and one or more for friends and relatives. They make a good birthday or Christmas gift!
